Advice for Road Runners: Searching for propulsive road running shoes that also offer great support and comfort? We highly recommend choosing the adidas Women's Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes in the Preloved Crimson/Zero Met./Preloved Ink colourway.

Underfoot Feel

The adidas Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes feature a midsole construction that helps you run faster in training sessions.

A bottom layer of LIGHTSTRIKE 2.0 cushioning feels forgiving and relatively plush - perfect for improving comfort levels. In contrast, a top layer of adidas' most resilient foam - LIGHTSTRIKE PRO - improves energy return.

Glass-fibre ENERGYRODS limit energy loss and enhance propulsion when you're moving quicker. However, as glass-fibre is more flexible than carbon, the ENERGYRODS feel relatively comfortable to run in at slower speeds too.

Upper Fit

Similar to the midsole, the upper of the adidas Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes is pretty broad. This means they'll accommodate a range of foot shapes, including those with wider feet.

The midfoot and ankle area delivers a performance-orientated feel and fit. By this, we mean it feels light and secure.

Ideal Run Type

We recommend using the adidas Women's Adizero Boston 12 Running Shoes for your speed-focused training sessions: intervals, hill reps, and tempo sessions.

They should also work for longer steady paced runs that include race simulation efforts.

As they're likely to feel very comfortable, you may be tempted to use them for your slower paced runs. However, it's best to save them for the higher intensity work.

Sizing Advice

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.

Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).

This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
